Since developing persimmon wine for the first time in the world, Cheongdo persimmon Wine Co. Ltd. and has been selling it in Korea and is pursuing export to Asia and America including countries such as Japan, China, and the USA.
Persimmon wine is a high-quality wine made from seed-less persimmons, a specialty of Cheondo-gun, and is well-known for its abundant tannin, fresh taste, golden color and pleasant aftertaste. Persimmon wine has a great taste because it is aged in a 1000-meter-long wine tunnel which was built in 1904. The wine tunnel has the best condition for aging persimmon wine since it maintains a temperature of 15°C all year round and its yellow brick ceiling emits anions. Numerous tourists have visited the wine tunnel as it has been developed into one of Korea's most noted theme-type tourist attractions boasting a long history and culture. In particular, a large number of tourists from Singaporeare plan to visited the tunnel April this year. The quality of our persimmon wine has been greatly acknowledged by people at home and abroad so that it was selected as the dinner wine for summit meetings such as “Busan 2005 APEC Summit” and “Korea, Sparkling in New York 2007”hosted by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the in augural ceremony of Korea president 2008, 2013.
